Covid-19 Facility Update 7/17/2020
Dear Residents, Representatives, Families, and Staff:
The health and safety of Bridgeway Senior Living is our highest priority and we recognize the concerns regarding coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). We have been taking steps for several weeks to reduce the risk of infection, and there is evidence in Illinois and DuPage County now of continuing community transmission of COVID-19.
There were zero new cases reported this week. In our care and concern for our residents and staff, we continue to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as the state and local health departments for best practices and protocols to protect everyone’s health.
To prevent further spread of the disease, we proactively initiated and implemented infection prevention strategies and practices prior to the identification of any case in our facility, including symptom screening of staff and residents, enhanced environmental cleaning and disinfection, and visitor screening and restriction. In addition, all staff are required to wear masks at all times, and we are closely monitoring residents for any fever, symptoms, or health status changes.
Residents who are confirmed with COVID-19 and/or experiencing symptoms will be relocated to an area of the facility to be placed on isolation precautions.
We are coordinating our efforts with the DuPage County Health Department to promptly identify and monitor individuals who have had recent contact with our COVID-19 positive individual(s) to prevent further spread within our facility and community.
We wish to express our thanks to our hard-working staff who care deeply about our residents and are committed to providing care. We ask that the community remember our staff as we continue to work every day to provide quality care for the residents of Bridgeway Senior Living.
