Taking Care of Our Residents

We noticed that although doors are rarely knocked upon, our residents were not opening them when breakfast and dinner were delivered. We know that being alone, watching the news, not building an appetite, may lead to a decline, which we most definitely do not want happening. Our wonderful staff really thought about ways to make residents want to answer the door.

We remembered as children, the Ice Cream Truck would come down the block playing the familiar song indicating it’s passing. Everyone would come running out of their house to get some ice cream. This communal memory brought us to our great idea.

So, our staff, made their very own Ice Cream Truck, and played the nostalgic song through the hallways. The curiosity of our residents’ must have peaked because doors opened, and out came our lovely residents to get their bowl of ice cream!
