Happiness is a major value for people these days. But at the same time it is also so hard for many people to achieve.
In this post we’ll have a look at three strategies that you can use to make yourself happier.
The first strategy to make yourself happier may be the most obvious one. And that is expressing gratitude. When you make a point of practicing gratitude and look for what to be thankful for, you’ll find it. When your mind is on the lookout for the positive, your thoughts and perception tends to follow suit. That means you’re more-likely to be happy thanks to your focus on gratitude.
Your words shape your world. If you use pessimistic and negative language, guess what! That’s how you’ll feel. When you opt for more positive language and don’t let negativity creep into your lexicon, you’re more likely to embody that too.
Fake it until you make it, goes the saying. While there may be some truth to that, acting happy is a lot more than faking it. By assuming a posture of someone who is happy, your physiology can affect your mood. You don’t need to wait until you feel happy before you start behaving like a happy person. It can work the other way around. Just try smiling and walking briskly with your back upright. If you do it for long enough, you’ll very-likely have a hard time not being in a happy state.
