Smiling can reduce your stress by lowering your cortisol levels and raising your endorphins. In today’s, perhaps, over-stressed culture, people are constantly looking for ways to lower their stress levels.
While getting there may require a broader plan, smiling may be a good way to start.
Let’s face it. You go into an elevator and see two people one frowning and the other smiling. Who are you more likely to strike up a conversation with? A smile is inviting. It tells people that you’re interested in hearing what they have to say and that you’re approachable.
